Colin S. Duffy

Licensed in both Texas and California, Colin S. Duffy is an experienced trial attorney who brings a mission-driven mindset to every case. His practice focuses on Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, and Military Defense. He has represented a wide range of clients in personal injury, business, and criminal disputes, delivering effective solutions through both negotiation and trial.

Colin gained significant trial experience as a felony prosecutor for Tarrant County, Texas, and as a Judge Advocate (JAG) in the U.S. Army. As a prosecutor, he handled serious felony cases and served in the Special Narcotics Unit. As an Army JAG, he served as a labor attorney and later as a Senior Defense Counsel, providing legal services to more than 14,000 soldiers. In that role, he personally defended servicemembers in courts-martial and administrative separation boards.

His civil litigation background was honed at national and international law firms in Dallas and Southern California, where he managed complex cases, including catastrophic injury and wrongful death matters, from intake through resolution.

Colin’s approach to the law is shaped by his service as a Marine officer, where he learned the value of preparation, teamwork, and decisive action. Those same skills now define his legal practice. Whether working with clients or colleagues, Colin builds strong teams, develops sound strategies, and executes with focus to achieve the best possible outcome.

He earned his J.D. (cum laude) from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.A. (with honors) in Business Administration from the University of San Diego. During law school, he externed for the Hon. R. Gary Klausner of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and was active in the Michigan Law Veterans Society.

Originally from Thousand Oaks, California, Colin attended Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino, where he played varsity sports and served as Student Body President. He is married with children and, in his limited free time, enjoys the outdoors and training in martial arts. He holds a second-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a black belt in Marine Corps Martial Arts.

Philosophy

“In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.”
― General Dwight D. Eisenhower

I believe every case deserves meticulous preparation and individual attention. I only select a limited number of cases to ensure that each matter receives the time, focus, and strategy it requires to succeed. I view my clients as teammates, with myself in the leadership role, protecting their rights, guiding their decisions, and fighting on their behalf. My ultimate goal is simple: pursue the best possible outcome with integrity, discipline, and unwavering commitment to justice.

Why I Do This

I chose to practice in this area of law because I wanted to represent people who are not in a position to defend themselves. I strive to be the person who stands with individuals against powerful institutions — because no one should have to fight alone, whether against the government, the military, or an insurance company. My purpose is to level the playing field and protect my clients’ rights, their future, and their dignity.
